This 1930s era sperm whale with four other small whales Whirligig was purchased from Rafael OSONA auctions of Nantucket in August 2025. Raphaelle mentioned that he had known about this piece for 37 years and kept asking the family to sell it or consign it to him so he could sell and finally this happened after a number of the siblings had passed away or bought each other out. General Grant was the first Nantucket whaling museum Director. other whales include a sperm whale, a bowhead whale, a right whale, and a humpback whale
